Chantry Place Shopping centre<\/a> is built on the site of the old Nestl\u00e9 chocolate factory in the centre of Norwich. Work commenced on the site in August 2002 and the centre was opened to the public at the end of September 2005. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

The development includes the anchor store, House of Fraser, an additional 10 large stores and 90 smaller retail units, 118 apartments and an underground car park. The management contractor for the development was Bovis Lend Lease<\/a> who let the main concrete package for the substructure and superstructure to Byrne Bros<\/a>. (Formwork) Ltd. Byrne Bros moved onto site after the piling phase and constructed the in situ concrete basement and the steel frame \/ composite deck building. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Camfaud supplied a range of concrete pumps<\/a> during this work with the main pumps used being a Schwing M34 and a Putzmeister M36<\/a>. On many of their contracts, Byrne Bros. supply their own pumps but felt that Camfaud could provide a better service in Norwich. As well as having local depots, Camfaud operate a greater range of pumps and so Byrne Bros. were able to choose the most cost effective machine for each pour.<\/p>\n

On the same development, Bovis Lend Lease let the piling contract to May Gurney<\/a> and the electricity sub-station Kier Construction Ltd. Both Kier<\/a> and May Gurney used Camfaud to supply their concrete pumps; M16 to M52 machines were used. <\/p>\n
