Ensuring Crossrail compliance for our concrete pump fleet

Camfaud has worked hard to ensure that the company is fully compliant with Crossrail’s vehicle requirements.  These exacting standards are aimed at making Crossrail related traffic safer when travelling to and from the various sites and also safer when working on the site. Camfaud is a member of TfL’s Freight Operator Recognition Scheme (FORS), a Crossrail requirement.

Our operators have attended the seven-hour Crossrail induction and training course, and have attended site inductions on each contract as and when they worked there.  We have made modifications to the concrete pumps that work in and around London to ensure that they meet the required standard. To equip our vehicles to the Crossrail standard meant fitting each mobile concrete pump with safety features to improve the safety of pedestrians and cyclists.  These included:

  • warning signs

  • audible warnings

  • near-side proximity sensors

  • side under-run guards

  • additional mirrors

  • Fresnel lenses

This work was carried out in addition to our regular concrete pump operator training and servicing of the concrete pumps to the highest standard.
